The Dorge is held in the right hand and represents Compassion (and is seen as Masculine) and is moved throughout the Prayers, the Bell is held in the left hand and represents Wisdom (Feminine) and is rung intermittently - at the start of Prayers the Bell is used to invite all Buddhas to the Prayers.
